A beautiful renovation of a closed water purification plant, an ecological park with a peaceful lake and garden
Located in Yangcheon-gu of Seoul, the West Seoul Lake Park is a peaceful ecological park. It was built on what was originally the Sinwol Water Purification Plant, 50 years after its closure. At the center of the large park is the central lake, as well as a unique fountain that functions after sensing the sound of planes flying above. There is also a unique and astonishing garden motivated by the works of artist Piet Mondrian, perfect for walking and resting. The West Seoul Lake Park, with a wide grass area, is especially suitable for during spring and fall to enjoy picnics with food and books.
